History

Introduced around 1898, the No. 19 is essentially a slightly longer version of the well-known No. 18. It was produced for more than 70 years, evolving through Stanley’s major manufacturing eras—pre-Sweetheart, Sweetheart, wartime, and post-war production. Its long lifespan and practical design made it one of Stanley’s most widely used block planes.
